MCBA Baking Activity

These are just a few of our entries! Thank you to Team MCBA for keeping this fine tradition alive, even in a pandemic year, and thank you to our bakers and to those who came to our live meets to cheer on your friends and classmates!

Team MCBA is underway--with a 100 meter dash!

Before leaving Massachusetts, Khalil and Mr. Carra organized and led a 100 meter dash inspired by Ghost.

Here's a picture of the fastest runner in our school!
Congratulations 6th grade on this first event victory.

Team MCBA members are now plotting and planning activities and contests sparked by other titles on this year's MCBA Mashup list.

Keep an eye out for Team MCBA posters and look forward to fan favorites (is another wall jump in our future?), twists on popular games, and all new ideas coming your way…

And check this blog regularly for photos, victory announcements, participation points updates, and more!

Battle of the Books 2018!

As always, our annual BOTB was closely contested--but unlike almost any year I can remember, there were no ties! Congratulations to all participants for great sportsmanship, tons of correct answers, and a lot of fun.

A special shout out to Cady, Jordan, and Shae who each wrote about a bajillion questions, to Jessica C-B for creating SES's first mixed team (staff and students), to Ms. Culbreth and Ms. Mendonsa for helping, and to Ms. Scott and Ms. McDonald for cheering us on and taking pictures.

Finally, the medals and ribbons should be in at Ames Trophy in time for next Friday's assembly. See you there!

Come as a Character

How many Mighty Jacks can you count? A dozen or so students (and more than a few teachers!) dressed as MCBA characters and earned participation points for their classes.

Thanks to TM in 5G for being our photographer!
